We spent an incredible day sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River last weekend. My husband, father-in-law, nephew & I were extremely fortunate to have Yves as our guide. Yves was able to get all of us hooked into powerful sturgeon during our trip. 5 1/2', 6 1/2' & two 8' were the best! Yves is an advocate of the conservation program and practices ethical fishing. Yves took the time to explain the process and allowed us to observe as he checked for tags & updated information in the database. Yves provides top quality gear for when you have to get in the river-which we were happy to do after a couple of epic fights! This wasn't just a day trip but a family memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks Yves

My first time big game sport fishing! Booked with my daughter, not really knowing what to expect. Maybe we would catch something or get a glimpse of a sturgeon, maybe not...it's fishing, so we tried to manage our expectations. Well, Yves took us out and delivered an experience beyond our wildest dreams - and I'm not exaggerating! We hooked six times and reeled in four, with one of them coming in at over 300 lbs - an absolute titan of a fish! Not only was this a trip we will never forget, but drawing upon his decades of experience, Yves blew us away with his deep knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication to sturgeon conservation. We left with an even deeper respect and appreciation of these prehistoric giants. To say this was a "once of a lifetime" experience is an understatement as big as these majestic creatures!
Just Do It
When my son said he wanted to catch a sturgeon for his graduation gift I began researching. I was recommended to Yves by another Canadian fisherman. Boy am I thankful! Yves was a professional from the moment we arrived. His boat was immaculate and organized. We just showed up and caught fish. It was an incredible day! Hands down one of the best experiences of our lives.

The whole experience was fantastic. Yves was so knowledgeable and an amazing guide. We’d put this day near the top when it comes to experiences and we will definitely be fishing with Yves again. Eight sturgeon made it in for us and they were just enormous. Communication leading up to the event was clear and helpful and everything was ready for us to have a successful trip. I can’t express how great the day was.

We booked a day of Sturgeon Fishing with Yves on 22-Mar-2024 and it was the most exhilarating experience of my life! Wow, I cannot rave enough. Right from the start of our day, Yves helped us to feel comfortable. We were provided fresh, hot coffee and snacks, as well as a thorough review of safety and emergency procedures. Yves consistently went above and beyond the entire time. Yves is a wonderful conversationalist but can also appreciate the quiet and allowed us to soak up the beautiful surroundings. In no time at all, we hooked into four beautiful White Sturgeon (our biggest was 7’5”). We learned about the history of each Sturgeon and Yves explained the value of this data in the preservation and protection of these beautiful freshwater fish. Yves is so incredibly passionate about the health and preservation of Sturgeon that he will take every opportunity to answer your questions and educate you. Knowledge is power and after a day with Yves, I now look for any opportunity to share what I learned with all my friends and family. Book with Yves and no matter what the day brings you, I know you’ll have one heck of a great time! Thanks Yves, we can’t wait to join you for another Sturgeon fishing adventure soon!

Incredibly delayed in writing this review (sorry Yves!), but couldn't recommend this trip with Yves Bisson Sturgeon Co. enough! My wife and I flew in from Calgary for a two-day trip with Yves, and were impressed from the minute we got on his boat. His knowledge of the Fraser river, Sturgeon themselves and his vast experience fishing Sturgeon was absolutely incredible. His equipment and boat are top of the line (boat is heated inside so you are comfortable when the weather outside is a bit chilly) and he provided coffee/snacks/water/everything else we needed to keep us comfortable while on the river. We were able to bring in 8 Sturgeon in the two days, and we had the most amazing experience. Yves is a down-to-earth guy and we enjoyed being able to chat with him all about his life experiences and everything else. He was an expert teacher and someone you genuinely enjoy spending time with and shooting the breeze. Would give this a 10/5 rating if possible - don't look anywhere else if you are heading on the Fraser River to catch Sturgeon!

This was a once in a lifetime experience. Yves was incredible! He took us out 2 days in a row and both trips were unbelievable! We landed a total of 13 monster sturgeon over the 2 days. He was very personable and very knowledgeable as well. I would highly recommend him and hope to return again with my dad in the future

We literally got off the boat an hour and a half ago and I just had to write this review. I knew my son and I were going to have a great day cause hey we’re on the water fishing and the weather is great. I had no idea just how epic our day was going to be! Yves was awesome! So knowledgeable, fun and always helping with great advice. From the start of the day till the end we were catching bigger and bigger sturgeon! Check out the pics of the last 2! Fishing with Yves was top notch! As a professional walleye fisherman and guide myself, I know how difficult guiding can be, this was first class all the way thru. Yves went well above and beyond to help us not only catch monster fish but also went out of his way to help us film the entire expedition! The day we fished the temp had dropped over 20 degrees from the day before and went from sunny to raining! Anyone that has fished a lot knows this doesn't spell good conditions for fishing, Yves has it mastered! From being out way before picking us up getting fresh bait, to how carefully he handled these fish when they were caught, to explaining the tagging program to us in detail, this was a incredible trip. I highly recommend Yves to anyone looking to catch one of these monsters! The other 2 boats out the same day as us never got a fish! We landed 3 monsters and lost 2 more of the same caliber! Don't just take my word for it though, go to "THINGS CHRIS DOES" on YouTube and you can watch our entire trip and know exactly what to expect, from the time you step in the boat until you finish the day! Class act, we look forward to fishing with him again!
Best Guided Fishing Trip Ever!

This was, without a doubt, the best guided trip I've ever been on. It exceeded all of my expectations. My wife and I caught several big fish, including three over eight feet. Yves is very professional, knows and respects the resource and is great company on the boat. He really knows the river, pays attention to detail and coached both of us through our rookie mistakes. It was a privilege to fish with him and be able to see these magnificent fish in person.

I have been with 6 other fishing guides, all of them leaving something to desire. Then I met Yves. I had a special group that I wanted to treat, and he did NOT disappoint. We had 9 fish all over 6.5 feet with the biggest one over 9 feet. He moved around to new spots to get us into the big fish. His tactics to target the big fish are CLEARLY a step above any of the local guides. Here are a couple tips: Take him up on his lunch. It was unbelievable. Ask him a question about a sturgeon, and you’ll be enlightened. I could keep going...
